Why Join?
Deciding to become a member of WMARC offers you the following advantages:
- You are supporting the finest amateur radio club of Morris County, with one of the largest footprint's of usable repeater's in the area.
- You can attend meetings that have excellent presentations, with fellow radio operators whose combined radio experience adds up to hundreds of years. You have the ability to help steer the topics of the meetings. We all are the same, as hams, always seeking more answers, almost always finding them through WMARC.
- You have a strong sense of ownership and participation in radio schedules such as "Uncle Jim's Old Timer's Net" and "The Tech Doctor Is In" net. No other club has such a following with either transceivers or monitors. We have a code of ethics requiring that we always remember who is listening - people of all ages who enjoy the shows, and who take note of how polite and respectful we are to one another.
- Your membership includes: A membership card, club name badge, and access to any and all questions concerning Amateur Radio.
- We encourage new members to provide fresh ideas, to serve on necessary committees, to help with amateur radio Field Day and to show the general public the many contributions of Amateur Radio clubs. Among other things, radio clubs serve in weather reporting, weather emergencies and relaying messages between civil and military agencies. We are closely affiliated with the Morris County and local OEM.
- In addition to technical operations and public service, we also have fun! An annual Club Picnic and an annual Holiday Dinner are two social functions which you can attended - and bring the family. Stop by at any of our functions and see what we do!
- Membership application acceptance is voted at monthly meetings. All new members will be probationary for six months, at that point if no objections the applicant will be voted in.
- Membership to other Amateur Club’s is allowed with set conditions to keep WMARC whole.
- All WMARC club meetings or activities take precedent over other clubs. Non-compliance will lead to loss of membership.
- Membership in County, Local Township OEM, ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service), CERT (Community Emergency Response Teams) is allowed and highly encouraged.
